2007 Cuvelier Los Andes Coleccion Mendoza

What a blend. This is an exceptional wine from Mendoza, blended with 60% Malbec, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.  The result is a big red, full of flavor, with a smooth finish that tastes like it cost twice as much as the $17.99 that I found it for at Costco.

The grapes mix nicely with the predominant Malbec; good earthiness, spice on the nose and in the finish, and just that dry plum cherry flavor that you get with nice Bordeaux.  A lot of fun all the way around and awesome with a steak.

I'll be placing this on our Silver Rated wine list, and if I see it again at Costco I'm going to drop a bottle in the cellar.  It would be interesting to try it again after a couple more years.
